Dr Piotr Krajewski

Gdańsk University of Technology

Senior Librarian and Data Steward at the Open Science Competence Centre of the Gdańsk University of Technology Library. A biologist by training, he holds a doctorate in health sciences with a specialisation in the history of medicine and pharmacy, awarded by the Medical University of Gdańsk in 2019. In 2025, he completed the Data Steward Certificate Programme at the University of Vienna, further strengthening his expertise in professional research data management.
 
He has been associated with the academic libraries of the Tricity area since 2011 – first as a staff member of the Medical University of Gdańsk Library, and from 2017 at the Gdańsk University of Technology Library. From the very beginning of his work at the University, he has been actively involved in the development of the MOST Wiedzy platform, and in particular the Open Research Data Catalog – a research data repository that was among the first in Poland to receive CoreTrustSeal certification and whose resources have been indexed in the WoS Data Citation Index.
 
Piotr‘s day-to-day work focuses on supporting researchers in managing their research data at every stage of the research, project, and publication cycle – from preparing Data Management Plans (DMPs), through depositing and describing datasets in the repository, to reporting research outcomes upon project completion. He delivers training sessions and webinars on Open Science topics, is the author of over a dozen publications in scientific and professional journals, and actively participates in national and international conferences both as a speaker and as an organiser. He is also engaged in Open Science initiatives, with particular involvement in efforts to develop the Polish national node within the EOSC Federation.
